Exploring ETFs

The Client:

Owned by BlackRock, iShares offers over 800 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) globally with more than $1 trillion in assets under management.

The Challenge:

Barclays Global Investors needed a site to help educate financial advisors and investors about iShares ETFs. One catch: it needed to be simple and engaging—two things that most financial sites just aren’t.

The Insight:

Investment products are complex, and research suggests that although many advisors are interested in — and using — ETFs as an investment strategy, there was limited understanding of them and where they may fit within a client's overall portfolio.

Our Solution:

IQ Agency created an engaging, digital experience that explained these complex financial concepts with easy-to-understand metaphors and let users customize their path through the information.

The Results:

The site, which seamlessly incorporated photo-realistic 3D models, studio-shot video, custom-manufactured props, an immersive 3D environment and intuitive design, produced participation rates around time spent on site and activity that was much higher than anything achieved previously by iShares.
